Sognefjord is Norway's longest and deepest fjord and there is good fishing here. The area also offers a nice hiking area. From the cottage it is about 5 km to Balestrand. In Balestrand you can visit the tumuli Belehaugane, once given away by Kaiser Wilhelm II. Also visit the Sognefjord Akvarium, which shows life on the fjord.
