Beautiful holiday home with private pool, terrace and enclosed garden in Ferrals-les-Corbières, in the heart of the Cathar country. This beautiful villa is located in a pleasant area of the Corbières with beautiful landscapes and good wines, in the department of Aude, about 30 km from Carcassonne, just 6 km from Lézignan-Corbières, whose charming local market takes place every Wednesday morning. It is only 30 minutes to the beaches of Port-la-Nouvelle!
The interior is tastefully decorated and bright. The main rooms have air conditioning. The beautiful pool in the large garden with palm and olive trees is a haven of peace and tranquillity. You have plenty of space to pursue your favourite activities: Relaxing in the shade of the trees, playing petanque or sunbathing by the pool. It is fully secured and has a tiled terrace with sun loungers and cushions, a covered area and a barbecue, so you are well catered for!
The villa is very well located. Port-la-Nouvelle and the island of St Lucia deserve a diversion, a beautiful route through pine forests and the garrigue with magnificent views of the ponds in the scent of Mediterranean plants. Follow in the footsteps of a very rich past, as your holiday home is close to beautiful castles, vineyards in a special location and many historic buildings. Ferrals is a pretty village where enthusiasts can find a nice trout fishing course, while the rest of the family can take the opportunity to pay a little visit to the church, which hides an admirable bas-relief. Later, continue to the restored former wash house and then to the castle square, where you have the opportunity to attend a musical event in summer. Be sure to visit the co-operative cellar to discover some fine wines.
The beautiful village of Lagrasse, recognised as one of the most beautiful villages in France, is 11 km away and the abbeys of Ste Marie and Fontfroide are 14 km away. The location of this national treasure in the heart of a beautiful quiet and wooded valley in the Massif des Corbières is almost as impressive as the abbeys themselves.
Plant lovers should definitely make a detour to Rouffiac-des-Corbières, to the Bonsaï arboretum or to Durban-Corbières, where more than 500 Mediterranean plant species live in an 8000 m² botanical garden. An hour's drive away is the "Moulin de Ribaute", an impressive limestone-cut gorge where water flows through a series of waterfalls and small natural lakes. It is also the starting point for a beautiful hike to Duilhac.
