In a beautiful location in Bakketun, between the national parks Jotunheimen and Rondane, you will find this vacation home. Here you live high above the Sjoa Gorge and have a breathtaking view directly into the Norwegian mountains. The house offers an excellent starting point for outdoor activities and extreme sports. Recommended is a trip to Gardfjellet with Heidalsmuen opposite. There you can admire the view of the three national parks, with Dovrefjell as the third in the bunch. Otherwise you have here a good starting point for excursions to Heidal with living cultural history, handicrafts and local food of high quality, to Brimiland with Brimi forest climbing park, Arne Brimi near Vianvang and Brimi mountain farm with restaurant and cheese dairy. Fishing is possible in the river and lake, you can also paddle here. Go horseback riding, take a moose safari, visit caves, farms and the swimming area in Fron. In winter there is a lot of snow and you can ski and sledge right outside the door. There are several lighted ski trails in the village and only 15 min by car is a great alpine facility (Jotunheimen Lemonsjø Alpinsenter). If you travel via the E6, you will pass the Olympic city of Lillehammer. Here we recommend Maihaugen, Norway's most visited open-air museum, and Hunderfossen Family Park. In summer, you can take the spectacular R51 over Valdresflya and through Jotunheimen.
