Just 5 km away is the magnificent Pont du Gard, a masterpiece of ancient architecture, the highest Roman aqueduct in the world, excellently preserved. You are only 30 minutes from Avignon, where you will find the magnificent Papal Palace with its gardens, the Pont Saint-Bénézet and charming stores. Absolutely worth seeing is Uzès, 20 km away, with its famous market, restaurants, its castle and its churches. The candy museum is also interesting. In summer you can visit bullfighting events in every village of the region. The capital of the Gard, Nîmes, with its Roman monuments, is also worth a visit. For the more active, only about 5 minutes away is the starting point for canoeing or hiking or a bike ride.
